Overview

Habi At Kapè is a charming restaurant nestled in the heart of Davao City, specifically situated at KM 3 J.P. Laurel Ave in the Poblacion District, as well as a cozy spot on the 3rd floor of Ayala Malls Abreeza Annex. It perfectly balances the warmth of a local coffee haven with the intimacy of a tucked-away café, making it an ideal venue for quiet dates or relaxed gatherings with friends.

The establishment’s standout offering is undoubtedly their Habi Biko, a traditional Filipino rice cake that has captured the hearts of many patrons for its authentic flavor and timely availability — often selling out quickly. Complementing this is their signature Sikwate, a native hot chocolate drink, rich and inviting, highlighted by the genuine aroma of quality cacao, which perfectly matches the comfortable, native-inspired ambiance of the space.

Habi At Kapè also delights with its selection of carefully prepared local dishes. The Fish & Chips, featuring fresh tuna paired with sweet potato, arrives with a house-made tartar sauce that elevates the simple flavors without overwhelming them. Meanwhile, their Pork Humba with rice toppings offers a hearty, satisfying meal with traditional Filipino seasoning that showcases the richness of slow-cooked meat.

The café’s interior, while cozy and somewhat compact, is thoughtfully designed to provide a welcoming, understated atmosphere. Located slightly away from the typical mall hustle at Abreeza, it feels like a hidden gem, offering a tranquil retreat for those seeking quality food and expertly brewed coffee — including their much-recommended Mt. Apo blend.

Service here is attentive without being intrusive. Staff embody genuine hospitality, contributing to the unhurried, homey feel of the place. Whether you’re dropping by for afternoon coffee, a simple lunch, or a quiet evening snack, Habi At Kapè speaks to a clientele who appreciate sincere flavors, local culinary roots, and a relaxing space removed from the usual urban rush.

In essence, Habi At Kapè is more than just a restaurant or café; it’s a cultural pause. A place where native Filipino beverages and dishes are celebrated with care, set against an intimate backdrop designed for connection and comfort. For those navigating Davao City’s culinary scene, this spot is a must-visit for an authentic taste of homegrown tradition paired with great coffee.

Place is simple and a bit secluded, best for intimate dates with friends. Prices are reasonable. Coffee and suman were okay, but our favorite was the biko which was immediately sold out. Well recommended

Dined here a few days ago. The cafe looks nice, though a bit cramped on the inside. Service is good. Staff is attentive. Had the following: (1) Fish & Chips (Tuna & Kamote, respectively). This is served with homemade tartar sauce. The fish was definitely fresh. Both elements were cooked just right. I had takeaway cuz portions were big. (2) Signature Sikwate. Traditional sikwate with condensed milk as sweetener. Enjoyed this one too.

Famous for their quality coffee and food, Habi and Kape is located at 3rd floor, Abreeza Mall Annex. The store can be hidden in plain view if you’re coming from the escalator but a simple stroll near the salons will point you to their direction. For a simple lunch, I ordered their Pork Humba Rice Toppings priced at P180 and Cucumber Juice priced at P70 per glass. The humba was perfect and the serving of rice is just enough for a decent meal. Unfortunately, while waiting for my juice to be served, at the last minute, I was told by the waiter that it was no longer available. I had to stop eating to wait for my new order of Iced Latte priced at P150 per cup. The coffee is also perfect and overall, it was a very good lunch. The shop has a very nice location because it’s not too exposed to strolling mall goers, the lay-out is nicely done and the overall ambiance is welcoming.

One of the best sikwate (native choco) IN Davao City. A bit sweet though but their sikwate is really pure. Was passing by their store and the aroma of the sikwate was very inviting. Staff is very respectful and accommodating. Ambience is very native indeed. You should try.

A local coffee haven in the heart of Davao City. They recommend the Mt. Apo blend for brewed coffee. They have a wide selection of local dishes for lunch, pm snacks, or dinner to match your coffee blend. You will find them at the 3rd floor of Ayala Malls Abreeza.

I’ve frequented this local cafe ages ago BC (before covid) and it remains to be a local favorite for its native delicacies and coffee. Even before, I like it’s chill atmosphere and it’s not crowded. I dropped by here again to taste the local goodies and just enjoy the solitude while sipping sikwate (hot chocolate drink) on a gloomy day. Service is still prompt. And though it’s quite sad with so little dine-in these days, I’m glad this local cafe remains serving our local kakanin. PS: i forgot to take photos of suman and kutsinta kay gutom nako.
